Biography

Paul Freeman is an English actor who has worked in theatre, film and television. Born on 18 January 1943 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, he began his career in advertising and teaching before turning to acting. He gained experience in repertory theatre and became a founding member of the Joint Stock Theatre Company, later appearing with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Freeman made his feature film debut in 1980 with roles in The Long Good Friday, as Colin, and The Dogs of War. He is known for playing archaeologist René Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). Other film credits include Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995), Hot Fuzz (2007) and Centurion (2010). His television work includes appearances in Falcon Crest, ER and Da Vinci's Demons.
