Biography
Paul Jesson is an English stage, television and film actor. He was born on 6 July 1946 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Jesson trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is an Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has played leading roles at the National Theatre and the RSC. In 1986 he won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in The Normal Heart at the Royal Court Theatre.
His film roles include Tribune Brutus in Coriolanus (2011), William Turner Snr in Mr. Turner (2014), the Doctor in Marrowbone (2017) and Humphrey in The Children Act (2018). On television he has appeared in The Crown as Sir Geoffrey Howe, Endeavour and Vera.
