Biography
Prentice Penny is an American television producer, screenwriter and director. He served as showrunner on the HBO series Insecure (2016–2021), for which he also wrote and directed episodes. He wrote and directed the Netflix film Uncorked (2020).
Penny began his career as a staff writer on Girlfriends (2000). He later worked on Scrubs (2001), Happy Endings (2011) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013) as a writer and producer. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California screenwriting programme.
