Biography
Rafiq Bhatia is an American musician, composer, guitarist and producer. Born in Hickory, North Carolina in 1987, he grew up in Raleigh and is based in Brooklyn. He joined the experimental rock band Son Lux as a full member in 2014, having previously been a touring musician with the group.
As part of Son Lux, Bhatia composed the score for the 2025 film Thunderbolts. The band had previously scored the 2022 film Everything Everywhere All at Once*, for which they received Academy Award and BAFTA nominations for Best Original Score. Bhatia has also released several solo albums and EPs, and has collaborated with artists including Dave Douglas, Vijay Iyer and Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
