Biography
Ralph S. Singleton is an American producer and production manager. Born on 22 March 1940 in Fall River, Massachusetts, he began his career in the 1970s as an assistant director on feature films including Taxi Driver (1976), Network (1976) and Death Wish (1974).
Singleton worked extensively on the CBS series Cagney & Lacey (1982–1988) as unit production manager, production manager and producer across dozens of episodes, also directing two episodes. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series for the programme in 1986, with a further nomination the following year.
His feature film credits as producer or co-producer include Graveyard Shift (1990), which he also directed, Pet Sematary II (1992), Clear and Present Danger (1994) and Murder at 1600 (1997). Singleton has authored books on film production, including Film Scheduling (1984).
