Biography
Ray Panthaki is a British actor, writer, director and producer. He was born in London on 20 January 1979 to second-generation Indian parents from the Parsi community.
He is known for his roles as Private Bedford in 28 Days Later (2002), Ronny Ferreira in the BBC series EastEnders (2003–2005), DI Rav Sangha in Marcella (2016–2020), Ram in the Netflix series Away (2020), Jevan Kapadia in Gangs of London (2020), and Freeman in Boiling Point (2021), for which he received a British Independent Film Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Other film credits include Ali G Indahouse (2002), Kidulthood (2006), Colette (2018) and Official Secrets (2019).
Panthaki founded the production company Urban Way and has produced several projects, including Kidulthood and Convenience (2013). He was named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit in 2014 and elected to the BAFTA Film Committee in 2024.
