Biography
Rhea Perlman is an American actress. She is best known for playing head waitress Carla Tortelli in the sitcom Cheers (1982–1993).
Perlman studied drama at Hunter College in New York. She received ten Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Cheers, winning four times (1984, 1985, 1986 and 1989), and was nominated six times for a Golden Globe Award in the same category.
Her other credits include the films Matilda (1996) and Barbie (2023), as well as voice roles in animated series. She is married to actor Danny DeVito.
