Biography
Richard B. Goodwin is a British film producer. He began his career in the film industry in the 1950s, working as a location and production manager before becoming an associate producer on Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968). He formed a long-term producing partnership with John Brabourne.
Goodwin produced several adaptations of Agatha Christie novels directed by Sidney Lumet and Guy Hamilton, including Murder on the Orient Express (1974), Death on the Nile (1978), The Mirror Crack'd (1980) and Evil Under the Sun (1982). With Brabourne, he produced David Lean's A Passage to India (1984), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Other credits include The Tales of Beatrix Potter (1971) and Little Dorrit (1988). He later served as executive producer on Seven Years in Tibet (1997).
Goodwin has been married to director and screenwriter Christine Edzard since 1969. They co-founded Sands Films.
