Biography
Richard Halsey is an American film editor with more than 60 credits since the early 1970s. An alumnus of Hollywood High School, he began his career in studio mail and music editing departments before working as an assistant and then editor on the television series Peyton Place.
He won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for Rocky (1976), shared with Scott Conrad. Other notable credits include American Gigolo (1980), Mannequin (1987), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Sister Act (1992), The Net (1995) and additional editing on Toy Story 2 (1999). He has frequently collaborated with his wife, editor Colleen Halsey, and has been a member of the American Cinema Editors since 1988. He received a Career Achievement Award from the organisation in 2014.
