Biography

Richard Masur is an American character actor. Born in New York City on 20 November 1948, he studied at the Yale School of Drama and began his career on stage before moving into film and television in the 1970s.

He is known for roles including Clark in The Thing (1982) and Rutherford in Risky Business (1983). Other credits include adult Stanley Uris in the miniseries It (1990), Phil Sultenfuss in My Girl (1991), and recurring appearances in series such as The Wonder Years, Orange Is the New Black and Mr. Robot.

Masur served two terms as president of the Screen Actors Guild from 1995 to 1999.
