Biography

Richard Romanus was an American actor. He appeared as Michael Longo in Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973). He provided voices for the animated films Wizards (1977) and Hey Good Lookin' (1982), and played Harry Canyon in Heavy Metal (1981).

Romanus was born in Barre, Vermont, and studied acting with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York. His younger brother, Robert Romanus, is also an actor; the two appeared together in episodes of MacGyver. On television, he played Richard La Penna in four episodes of The Sopranos (1999–2002).

He was married to costume designer Anthea Sylbert from 1985 until his death. Romanus later lived in Greece and wrote several books.
