Biography
Richard Webb was an American actor in film, television and radio. He was born John Richard Webb on 9 September 1915 in Bloomington, Illinois, and died on 10 June 1993 in Van Nuys, California.
Discovered by Paramount Pictures in 1940, he appeared as a contract player in films including Sullivan's Travels (1941), This Gun for Hire (1942) and Out of the Past (1947), in which he played Jim. He served in the US Army during the Second World War, rising to the rank of captain, and later to major in the Army Reserve.
Webb starred as Captain Midnight in the 1950s television series of the same name and appeared in many westerns and films noir. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his television work.
