Biography
Richard Wenk is an American screenwriter and director. He graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1979 and began his career in low-budget film, writing and directing the vampire comedy Vamp (1986).
Wenk is best known for his work on action films, including the screenplays for The Equalizer (2014), The Equalizer 2 (2018) and The Equalizer 3 (2023), The Expendables 2 (2012), The Magnificent Seven (2016) and Kraven the Hunter (2024), on which he also received a story credit. Earlier credits include the screenplay for 16 Blocks (2006).
He has also directed films such as Just the Ticket (1998) and worked as an assistant to director John Huston on Annie (1982).
