Biography
Rick Ducommun was a Canadian actor and comedian. Born Richard Ducommun on 3 July 1952 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, he grew up on a farm and began performing stand-up comedy as a teenager. He hosted the Canadian children's television series Zig Zag and later moved into acting and comedy specials.
Ducommun appeared in supporting roles in numerous films, including Spaceballs (1987), Die Hard (1988), The 'Burbs (1989) as Art Weingartner, The Hunt for Red October (1990), Groundhog Day (1993) as Gus, and Scary Movie (2000). He was also a co-founder of the Canadian skateboard company Skull Skates. Ducommun died on 12 June 2015 in Vancouver from complications of diabetes.
