Biography
Rob Dressel is a cinematographer and layout supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has served as director of cinematography: layout on the features Big Hero 6 (2014), Moana (2016) and Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), and has held layout supervisor or artist credits on Wreck-It Ralph (2012), Tangled (2010) and other studio productions.
Dressel began working in computer graphics in 1993 on commercials, then moved into visual effects at Dream Quest Images (later Disney’s The Secret Lab), contributing to live-action films including Crimson Tide (1995), Armageddon (1998) and 102 Dalmatians (2000). He later supervised animation on Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) and worked in previs before joining Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2008 as layout supervisor on the short Prep & Landing (2009).
