Biography
Robert Eggenweiler was an American film producer, associate producer and location manager. After serving in the US Navy during the Second World War, he worked on the Warner Bros. lot and later at Universal on television series including Wagon Train, Cimarron City and M Squad.
In the early 1950s he joined Filmmakers Inc., the production company of Collier Young and Ida Lupino, where he began as a production assistant and was later promoted to associate producer and treasurer. From the late 1960s he worked extensively with director Robert Altman as associate producer on films including The Long Goodbye (1973), California Split (1974), Nashville (1975), 3 Women (1977), A Wedding (1978) and A Perfect Couple (1979). He received producer credit on Nashville and The Long Goodbye. He later worked as a location manager on films such as Popeye (1980), The Entity (1982) and WarGames (1983). Eggenweiler died on 12 November 1999 in North Hollywood, California.
