Biography
Ron Canada is an American actor and producer. Born in New York City on 3 May 1949, he began his professional life as a broadcast journalist before training as an actor at the Folger Theatre in Washington, D.C., and transitioning to stage work in the 1980s.
Canada received the Dallas Film Critics Award for his performance as Otis Payne in John Sayles's Lone Star (1996). His film roles include appearances in Wedding Crashers (2005), Cinderella Man (2005) and National Treasure (2004). On television he has played Under Secretary of State Ted Barrow in The West Wing, a recurring character in The Shield, and guest roles in series including The Office and multiple Star Trek programmes.
He maintains an active stage career with credits that include August Wilson's Fences and productions at the Signature Theatre and Ensemble Studio Theatre.
