Biography

Rospo Pallenberg is an English screenwriter and director. Born Robert Pallenberg in 1939 in Croydon, Surrey, he studied architecture in New York City in the 1960s, where he met director John Boorman.

Pallenberg collaborated extensively with Boorman. He received adaptation and screenplay credit on the Arthurian epic Excalibur (1981) and sole screenplay credit on The Emerald Forest (1985). He contributed uncredited writing to Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) and directed the film Cutting Class (1989). Other credits include The Barber of Siberia (1998) and Druids (2001). He was nominated for a Hugo Award for Excalibur.
