Biography
Rudy Bond was an American actor whose career spanned stage, film and television from the late 1940s until his death. Born in Philadelphia, he began acting with the amateur Neighborhood Players there before serving in the United States Army during the Second World War.
After the war he trained at the Actors Studio in New York under Elia Kazan and made his Broadway debut in the original 1947 production of A Streetcar Named Desire as Steve Hubbell. He reprised the role in the 1951 film version. Bond appeared in numerous other films, including On the Waterfront (1954), 12 Angry Men (1957), The Godfather (1972) and The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974), and worked extensively in television. He also continued stage work into the 1970s.
