Biography
Sam McCurdy is a British cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the British Society of Cinematographers. He served as director of photography on the pilot episode of the Apple TV+ series Smoke (2025).
His television credits include Shōgun (2024), for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series (One Hour) and an ASC Award; Game of Thrones (2011); Lost in Space (2018–2021); Peacemaker (2022); and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023). Film credits include The Descent (2005) and Doomsday (2008). McCurdy has collaborated with director Neil Marshall on several projects, including Dog Soldiers (2002) and the Game of Thrones episode "Blackwater," for which he received a British Society of Cinematographers nomination.
