Biography
Samuel E. Beetley was an American film editor. He began working as an editor in 1937 and continued until the 1980s, with credits on more than thirty films.
His film work includes Out of the Past (1947), The Longest Day (1962), Doctor Dolittle (1967) and Soylent Green (1973). He received Academy Award nominations for best film editing for The Longest Day and Doctor Dolittle. Beetley also won two Primetime Emmy Awards from seven nominations and worked in television, including for Aaron Spelling Productions.
