Biography
Scott Silver is an American screenwriter and film director. Born on 30 November 1964 in Worcester, Massachusetts, he graduated from Boston University in 1986 and from the American Film Institute in 1992.
He wrote and directed Johns (1996). His other screenwriting credits include The Mod Squad (1999), 8 Mile (2002), The Fighter (2010), Joker (2019) and Joker: Folie à Deux (2024), the last two co-written with Todd Phillips. He has also produced films including Stronger (2017).
Silver received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay for The Fighter and Best Adapted Screenplay for Joker.
