Biography
Todd Phillips is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. He began his career directing documentaries, including Hated (1994) about punk musician GG Allin, while studying at New York University Film School.
Phillips moved into feature films with comedies such as Road Trip (2000), Old School (2003) and Starsky & Hutch (2004). He achieved wider success directing the Hangover series, starting with The Hangover (2009). In 2019 he co-wrote and directed Joker, and he returned as writer, director and producer for the sequel Joker: Folie à Deux (2024).
