Biography
Shepherd Frankel is an American production designer. Born and raised in New York City, he attended the LaGuardia School of the Arts and later earned a Master's degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UCLA.
He began his career in commercials as an assistant art director before moving into feature films, working as an assistant art director, art director and supervising art director on titles including Magnolia (1999), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), Fantastic Four (2005) and Due Date (2010). As a production designer his credits include Step Up (2006), 27 Dresses (2008), Horrible Bosses (2011), Identity Thief (2013), Bad Words (2014), Baywatch (2017) and Uncharted (2022).
Frankel has collaborated extensively with Marvel Studios. He served as production designer on the films Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), as well as the Marvel One-Shots Item 47 (2012), Agent Carter (2013) and All Hail the King (2014), and contributed to additional photography on several other MCU entries.
