Biography
Simon Duggan is a New Zealand-Australian cinematographer. Born on 13 May 1959 in Wellington, New Zealand, he began his career in Australia at Ross Wood Film Studios. His first feature was The Interview (1998).
Duggan has worked as director of photography on The Great Gatsby (2013) and Hacksaw Ridge (2016), for both of which he won the AACTA Award for Best Cinematography. Other credits include I, Robot (2004), Warcraft (2016) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024). He has collaborated with directors including Baz Luhrmann, Alex Proyas, Mel Gibson and George Miller.
Duggan joined the Australian Cinematographers Society in 1989 and the American Society of Cinematographers in 2022.
