Biography
Sonja Klaus is a London-based production designer whose credits include the BBC series Taboo (2017) and the feature film & Sons (2026). She began her career as a set decorator before moving into production design.
Her set decoration work includes Gladiator (2000), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), American Gangster (2007), Robin Hood (2010), X-Men: First Class (2011) and Prometheus (2012). As production designer she has worked on A Good Year (2006), Babylon A.D. (2008), Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), The Aftermath (2019) and the series A Christmas Carol (2019), The Power (2023) and Great Expectations (2023).
Klaus won a British Film Designers Guild award for Taboo and has received further nominations from the guild. She is a member of BAFTA and AMPAS.
