Biography
Stanley Sopel was a British film producer. He worked as associate producer on several early entries in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, beginning with Dr. No (1962). He received on-screen credit as associate producer on On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971), and held the same role, often uncredited, on From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968).
Sopel collaborated closely with producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, managing day-to-day production matters on the Bond films. He later served as associate producer on The Wilby Conspiracy (1975) and as executive producer on the children's television series Wizbit (1986–1988). Born in Holborn, London, on 11 October 1924, he died in London on 23 October 2007.
