Biography
Stephen Levinson is an American film and television producer and writer. He is the founder of Leverage, a talent management and production company, and has collaborated extensively with Mark Wahlberg as his manager and producing partner.
Levinson grew up in Manhasset Hills, New York, and graduated from Tulane University. He moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and founded Leverage in 1996. The company’s production activities expanded significantly with the 2004 premiere of the HBO series Entourage, on which Levinson served as executive producer and wrote three episodes. He created the HBO series Ballers (2015–2019) and has executive produced other series including In Treatment, How to Make It in America and Boardwalk Empire.
His film producing credits include Contraband (2012), Lone Survivor (2013), Prisoners (2013), Deepwater Horizon (2016), Patriots Day (2016), Mile 22 (2018), Instant Family (2018), Spenser Confidential (2020) and The Family Plan (2023). Levinson has received two Producers Guild of America Awards, a BAFTA Award, two Peabody Awards and a Golden Globe Award.
