Biography
Stephen Russell is a British television writer. His credits include episodes of the Channel 4 comedy-drama Shameless (2007–2008), the BBC series Peaky Blinders (2013), and numerous episodes of ITV's Coronation Street (2002–2010).
He has also written single dramas such as Hattie (2011), a biographical film about actress Hattie Jacques, and We're Doomed! The Dad's Army Story (2015). Other work includes Dave Allen at Peace (2018), The Queen and I (2018), and episodes of Ackley Bridge and Trying.
Episodes of Coronation Street written by Russell received a BAFTA nomination and won an RTS award in 2007. He is represented by Curtis Brown.
