Biography

Steve Coulter is an American actor and writer. He trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts and has appeared in numerous films and television series.

He is known for recurring roles as Father Gordon in the Conjuring series, including The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), Annabelle Comes Home (2019), The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) and The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025), and as Carl in Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) and Insidious: The Red Door (2023). Other film credits include The Hunger Games (2012), Oppenheimer (2023) and First Man (2018). Television work includes appearances in The Walking Dead, House of Cards and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

As a writer, Coulter served as head writer on the Tyler Perry series House of Payne and Meet the Browns, supervising more than 100 episodes and winning two NAACP Image Awards for Best Comedy Series.
