Biography
Sy Salkowitz was an American television writer, producer and executive. He began his screenwriting career in 1956 with an episode of The Errol Flynn Theatre and went on to write more than 350 episodes for series including Naked City, Perry Mason, Mission: Impossible, The Virginian, Ironside and Police Story.
Salkowitz served as president of 20th Century Fox Television from 1976 to 1981. He received the Edgar Allan Poe Award from the Mystery Writers of America in 1974. He also wrote the feature films Thunder Alley (1967) and The Biggest Bundle of Them All (1968), and his papers are held by the Wisconsin Center for Theatre Research.
