Biography
Trevor R. Bowen (also credited as T.R. Bowen) was a British actor and screenwriter. He appeared in the film Darling (1965) as Tony Bridges and contributed scripts to the television series Lovejoy (1986).
Born in Rangoon, Burma, Bowen was educated at Dulwich College, Winchester Art School and Queens' College, Cambridge, where he was president of the Marlowe Society. He toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in repertory theatre before establishing a career in British television drama from the mid-1960s.
As a screenwriter from the 1970s, he specialised in adaptations, contributing to Agatha Christie's Miss Marple (1984–1992), Sherlock Holmes (1984), Hornblower: Mutiny (2001) and other series. He also wrote several novels. Bowen died on 2 November 2025.
