Biography
Ted Mann was a Canadian-born television writer and producer. He began his career writing for National Lampoon magazine and its related projects, including the 1979 ABC series Delta House.
Mann frequently collaborated with David Milch. He served as a writer and producer on ABC’s NYPD Blue (1993–1995 and later seasons) and HBO’s Deadwood (2004–2006). He also wrote for Millennium, Hatfields & McCoys (2012) and produced later seasons of Homeland (2015–2018). He co-wrote the screenplays for the films O.C. and Stiggs (1985) and Space Truckers (1996).
In 1995, Mann shared a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series for NYPD Blue. He received further Emmy nominations for Deadwood and Homeland, and a Writers Guild of America Award for Hatfields & McCoys.
