Biography

Thomas Napper is a British film and television director. Born in London on 26 June 1970, he began his career directing shorts and music videos before working extensively as a second unit director, including on multiple films directed by Joe Wright.

Napper made his narrative feature debut with Jawbone (2017), a boxing drama written by and starring Johnny Harris. He has since directed episodes of series including The Wheel of Time and the feature Widow Clicquot (2024). He also directed the documentary Lost Angels: Skid Row Is My Home (2010).

His second unit credits include Pride & Prejudice (2005), Atonement (2007), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Darkest Hour (2017), Mary Poppins Returns (2018) and Aladdin (2019).
