Biography

Tom Mardirosian is an American actor born on 14 December 1947 in Buffalo, New York. He first became interested in theatre while serving in the US Army as a member of a Special Forces theatre troop at Fort Bragg. After his service he taught acting at the Studio Arena Theatre School in Buffalo and appeared in numerous productions there.

Mardirosian has performed on Broadway in productions including The Magic Show, Wonderful Town, My Favorite Year, Cuba and His Teddy Bear and Happy End. His Off-Broadway credits include Ruined at the Manhattan Theatre Club. He is also a playwright whose works have been produced at Playwrights Horizons.

On screen he is known for the role of Agamemnon Busmalis in the HBO series Oz (1998–2003) and Agent Kristos Koutris in The Wire (2003). Film appearances include Trading Places (1983), Presumed Innocent (1990) as Nico Della Guardia, and Let's Be Cops (2014). He has made guest appearances in series such as The Blacklist, Elementary and Blue Bloods.
