Biography

Tom McArdle is an American film editor. He has worked extensively with writer-director Tom McCarthy, editing all of McCarthy’s feature films to date, beginning with The Station Agent (2003).

Their collaboration includes The Visitor (2007), Win Win (2011), Spotlight (2015) and Stillwater (2021). For Spotlight, McArdle received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing and won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Editing.

Other credits include In a World... (2013), The Cobbler (2014), Marshall (2017) and Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made (2020). He joined the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016 and is a graduate of Dartmouth College.
