Biography
Tony Lawson is a British film editor born in London in 1944. He began in the mid-1960s as an assistant sound editor and assistant editor on features, working with Ann Chegwidden and Norman Savage. His first major credit came on Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs (1971), after which he collaborated with the director again and spent two years editing Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (1975).
Lawson has maintained long-standing working relationships with Nicolas Roeg and Neil Jordan. His credits include Don't Look Now (1973), Bad Timing (1980), The Witches (1990), Michael Collins (1996), The End of the Affair (1999), Byzantium (2013) and The Brave One (2007). He has also edited for television.
