Biography
Tsunehiko Kamijō (also credited as Tsunehiko Kamijô) was a Japanese singer, actor and voice actor. He began his career as a singer in 1962 and appeared in numerous stage musicals, including long-running productions of Man of La Mancha. He also featured in live-action films and television dramas, among them several NHK taiga series.
Kamijō was known for his voice work in Studio Ghibli films directed by Hayao Miyazaki. He voiced Gonza in Princess Mononoke (1997), Chichiyaku in Spirited Away (2001) and the Mamma Aiuto Gang Boss in Porco Rosso (1992). He died on 22 July 2025 in Nagano, Japan, aged 85.
