Biography
Toshio Suzuki (Japanese: 鈴木 敏夫) is a Japanese film producer and studio executive. Born on 19 August 1948 in Nagoya, Aichi, he began his career at Tokuma Shoten as a magazine editor before becoming editor of Animage, where he formed professional relationships with directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata.
Suzuki is a co-founder of Studio Ghibli and has served as its president and, later, chairman. He has produced or co-produced numerous Studio Ghibli films, including Spirited Away (2001), Howl's Moving Castle (2004), Princess Mononoke (1997), My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Ponyo (2008), Castle in the Sky (1986), Porco Rosso (1992), The Wind Rises (2013), The Secret World of Arrietty (2010) and The Boy and the Heron (2023).
