Biography
Virginia Gregg (1916–1986) was an American actress. Born in Harrisburg, Illinois, she began her career in radio drama in the 1940s and became one of the busiest performers in the medium, appearing in numerous series including Dragnet.
She made her film debut in Body and Soul (1947) and went on to appear in more than 45 features. Her credits include Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955), in which she played Anne Richards, Operation Petticoat (1959) and Crime in the Streets (1956). She provided the uncredited voice of Norma Bates in Psycho (1960) and reprised the role in the sequels Psycho II (1983) and Psycho III (1986). Gregg also worked extensively in television, with guest roles in series such as The Twilight Zone, Bonanza and Bewitched.
