Biography

Wallace Ford (born Samuel Jones Grundy; 12 February 1898 – 11 June 1966) was an English-born American actor. He spent his early years in England and Canada before entering vaudeville and appearing on Broadway in the 1920s.

Ford made his film debut in Possessed (1931) and went on to appear in more than 150 films. His credits include Freaks (1932), The Informer (1935), Shadow of a Doubt (1943) as Fred Saunders, Spellbound (1945), Dead Reckoning (1947), The Set-Up (1949), Harvey (1950) and The Man from Laramie (1955). He became a naturalised US citizen in 1942.
