Biography
Walter Gronostay (1906–1937) was a German composer who worked primarily in film music from the late 1920s. Born in Berlin, he composed scores for feature films and documentaries, including Reifende Jugend (1933), Der Tunnel (1933) and Straßenmusik (1936).
He contributed music to the two-part documentary Olympia (1938), directed by Leni Riefenstahl and released after his death, co-composing with Herbert Windt. He also scored Jugend der Welt (1936). Gronostay died in Sacrow bei Potsdam on 10 October 1937.
