Biography
Wes Bentley is an American actor. He was born on 4 September 1978 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and attended the Juilliard School's drama division before leaving after one year to pursue his career.
Bentley made his screen debut in Beloved (1998). He gained prominence for his role as Ricky Fitts in American Beauty (1999), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Subsequent film roles include Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games (2012), Doyle in Interstellar (2014), and Erik in Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018). On television he has played Jamie Dutton in Yellowstone (2018–2024) and appeared in American Horror Story.
He starred in the off-Broadway premiere of David Ives's Venus in Fur in 2010. Bentley was one of the subjects of the 2009 documentary My Big Break, which examined his rise to fame after American Beauty and subsequent personal challenges.
