Biography

Wil Shriner is an American actor, comedian, director and screenwriter. Born in New York City on 6 December 1953, he is the son of humorist Herb Shriner and the twin brother of actor Kin Shriner. He began his career as a stand-up comedian, appearing regularly on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and other late-night programmes, before hosting the syndicated talk show The Wil Shriner Show (1987–1988).

Shriner has directed numerous episodes of sitcoms, including eight episodes of Frasier (1993) between 2000 and 2003, as well as episodes of Becker (1998), Everybody Loves Raymond (1996) and Gilmore Girls (2000). He wrote the screenplay for and directed the feature film Hoot (2006). His acting credits include roles in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986) and Forest Warrior (1996).
