Biography
William Lyon, also credited as William A. Lyon, was an American film editor. He worked primarily at Columbia Pictures from the mid-1930s until the early 1970s.
Lyon received Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing six times and won twice: for From Here to Eternity (1953) and Picnic (1955). His other credits include The Caine Mutiny (1954), The Man from Laramie (1955), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Major Dundee (1965) and Barefoot in the Park (1967).
