Biography

Wolf Kahler is a German character actor born on 3 April 1940 in Kiel. He has worked in stage, film, television and voice acting, appearing in many English-language American and British productions since 1975.

Kahler played the Prince of Tübingen in Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (1975) and Kaiser Wilhelm II in The Riddle of the Sands (1979). He is known for the role of Colonel Hermann Dietrich in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), a Wehrmacht general in the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), and Dr Hoffmanstahl in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011). Other credits include The Boys from Brazil (1978), Firefox (1982), The Remains of the Day (1993), Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) and Wonder Woman (2017).

He has also provided voices for video games, including Kaiser Vlad in Battalion Wars.
