Biography

Yoshihiro Furusawa is a Japanese film producer. Born on 25 February 1978 in Tokyo, he graduated from Meiji University in 2000 and joined Toho the same year. He worked in cinema operations and sales before taking on new business initiatives, later heading the anime division and establishing the TOHO animation label.

In 2017 he founded STORY inc. and serves as its president while remaining affiliated with Toho. He has been executive producer on several Makoto Shinkai films, including Your Name. (2016), Weathering with You (2019) and Suzume (2022). He received the Fujimoto Award for his work on Your Name..

Furusawa produced the 2025 live-action film Exit 8 and has contributed to other projects such as Bubble (2022) and The Colors Within (2024). His father, Toshio Furusawa, was a noted film publicity producer.
