Biography
Zbigniew Zamachowski is a Polish actor. He was born on 17 July 1961 in Brzeziny, Poland, and graduated from the actor's faculty of the National Film School in Łódź. He began his acting career in 1981 and appeared in part ten of Krzysztof Kieślowski's Dekalog series in 1989. Kieślowski later cast him in the lead role of Karol Karol in Three Colors: White (1994).
Zamachowski is a two-time winner of the Polish Film Award for Best Actor, for his roles in Hi, Tereska (2001) and Zmróż oczy (2004). Other notable film roles include appearances in Colonel Kwiatkowski (1996), With Fire and Sword (1999) and Walesa: Man of Hope (2013). He performed at the Studio Theater in Warsaw from 1985 to 1997 and has been an actor at the National Theater in Warsaw since 1997.
