Biography
Alexander Rodnyansky is a Ukrainian film producer. Born in Kyiv on 2 July 1961, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and Television as a documentary director and began his career at the KyivNaukFilm studio.
He founded Ukraine's first independent television channel, 1+1, and later ran CTC Media in Russia. Rodnyansky has produced more than thirty films, including Andrey Zvyagintsev's Elena (2011), Leviathan (2014) and Loveless (2017), Kantemir Balagov's Beanpole (2019), and international titles such as Cloud Atlas (2012) and Stalingrad (2013).
His productions have won awards including a Golden Globe for Leviathan and prizes at Cannes. Rodnyansky is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
