Biography
Allan Rich, born Benjamin Norman Schultz, was an American character actor. He began his career as a child and appeared in several Broadway productions in the 1940s and early 1950s, including I'll Take the High Road (1943) and Darkness at Noon (1951). He was blacklisted in the 1950s and later resumed acting, with film roles including D.A. Herman Tauber in Serpico (1973), Robert Kintner in Quiz Show (1994), Ben Heller in Disclosure (1994) and Judge Juttson in Amistad (1997).
Rich also worked extensively in television, with appearances in series such as House, 2 Broke Girls, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and The Nanny. He co-founded the non-profit organisation We Care About Kids, which produces educational short films for young people. He died in Englewood, New Jersey, in 2020.
